Let’s face it, you didn’t get into blogging for the sheer enjoyment of it. I mean, it’s pretty neat to create content based on your interests and put it out there for the world to read, but when it comes down to it, you’re in it for the money.

Blog monetization is an art form because you can’t just slap up a bunch of ads without damaging the integrity and reputation of your blog. If you’re like most bloggers, your blog is your baby and you want to take extra care to ensure it’s presented properly.

Enter… affiliate marketing.

Hands down, affiliate marketing is one of the best ways to earn a lucrative income as a blogger. It’s nonintrusive because you are simply recommending stuff that you like and that will help solve your readers’ problems, it’s easy because you don’t have to handle inventory or even payments, and it can generate a sizable passive income. Cha-ching!

I have put together a comprehensive list of affiliate programs for bloggers within several niches so that you don’t have to put in the time necessary to do the research and find the good ones to promote. So here are 60 of my favs. But first, a little useful info for you on the topic of choosing affiliate programs for your blog…

Want to know which affiliate marketing method works best for you? Answer the short quiz below:

How to Choose Affiliate Programs For Bloggers

There are several things you should look for when you are choosing affiliate marketing programs for your blog, including niche, commission, cookie duration, and type of earning. Let’s look at each of them individually:

Niche

Most likely, your blog pertains to a certain niche, and the affiliate marketing programs you choose to promote should make sense for that niche. That means, if your blog is about organization tips, you can promote products like bins, storage devices, and Evernote. You might even be able to get away with promoting things like meal delivery services because they can help make our lives easier, although that might be pushing it. It certainly wouldn’t make sense to promote trading software or digital marketing products.

Don’t try to sneak one over on people here and think that you can promote something that isn’t in alignment with what you write about, because you can’t. All it will do is make people lose interest in you and your blog. For example, I once was subscribed to a vitamin company until they promoted a financial trading opportunity to me. It made no sense coming from them and turned me off.

Commission

Affiliate program commissions range according to industry, company, and product. While higher commissions are certainly more desirable, lower commissions on high selling products can often earn more than a less desirable product with high commissions.

Another thing to consider here is that some companies utilize upsells and downsells. This is when they promote other products that the customer would like after they have made a purchase, and it can greatly increase your earnings. So, a you can see, choosing the top affiliate programs isn’t always cut and dry.

Cookie Duration

A cookie is how affiliate programs save each unique affiliate link to a person’s computer. It is what tracks purchases to affiliates, and each cookie has an expiration date associated with it. Some affiliate programs use 30 day cookies, some use 10 day, or anything in between and beyond.

If a cookie is set to 30 days, that means that if a viewer visits a site using your affiliate link, does not purchase, but then goes back to that same site (without using your affiliate link), you will still earn a commission for that sale as long as it is within the 30 days from when they first visited. Obviously, longer cookie durations are optimal.

Type of Earning

There are several different ways to earn when it comes to affiliate programs for bloggers:

  • Pay-Per-Sale – These affiliate programs offer you a commission based on when a person purchases from your affiliate link.
  • Pay-Per-Click – The affiliate programs that use this earning type offer commissions when a person clicks on your affiliate link, not when they make a purchase. The commissions here are usually much lower but are easier to obtain.

Another area to consider is whether or not the program is a one-time earning or a recurring earning. Recurring affiliate programs are highly desirable for bloggers because it allows them to create a passive income stream that keeps coming in month after month, and it’s often how they choose their top affiliate programs.

These programs all have certain things that make them great for bloggers. That being said, if you are just starting out, some of these programs will not accept you. You might want to check out our list of affiliate programs for beginners.

All Niches – Affiliate Marketing Networks

Affiliate Marketing Networks are one of the best ways to get involved with affiliate marketing because they give us access to hundreds and sometimes thousands of affiliate programs in one convenient website. The commissions range by company, and some companies within the network require a manual approval, while others will allow you to be approved upon sign up.

After you sign up with an affiliate network and are approved, you can search their database of companies for the industry, product, or company you are looking for. It is beneficial to sign up with several affiliate networks to access all the companies you want to work with because many companies are only listed on one network.

CJ Affiliate

CJ Affiliate Affiliate marketing programs

CJ Affiliate, otherwise known as Commission Junction, is another reputable affiliate network with about 3000 merchants, including houses name brands. Use this network once you have established yourself as an affiliate marketer because if you don’t earn a commission in 6 months time, your account will be deactivated and the merchants often have stringent approval parameters. But once you’re established, it’s very worth it.

Amazon Associates

Amazon affiliate programWe’ve lumped Amazon Associates into the Affiliate Networks section because of its sheer size, but essentially, it allows you to earn a commission on anything that Amazon sells.

The commissions in the Amazon affiliate program are pretty low (ranging from 1% to 10% depending on the product) and the cookies are really short (24 hours), but the upside is that you can promote pretty much anything since Amazon offers pretty much everything. Plus, their cookies allow you to earn commissions on whatever the visitor purchases, even if it isn’t the product you promoted. Payouts are sent out 60 days after the last day of the month that you earned your commission.

Ebay Partner Network

ebay Top affiliate programsThe eBay Partner Network is comparable to the Amazon Associates program because it allows you to earn commission on anything sold on eBay. Payments occur monthly once you have earned at least $10.

Etsy

Best affiliate programs for bloggersEtsy also has an affiliate program that is similar to Amazon’s and eBay’s. It allows you to earn commissions for anything that is sold on Etsy. Most bloggers can find at least a few unique products on Etsy to promote.

PeerFly

Peerfly Top affiliate programsPeerFly is a CPA network that houses about 2000 merchants. As it is a CPA (cost per action) network, commissions can be earned on certain actions that can include a sale, but it could also be something like opting in for a free download or completing a survey. Payouts happen monthly once you’ve met the $50 minimum.

FlexOffers

Flex Offers Best affiliate programs for bloggersFlexOffers is massive, with over 12,000 merchants in over 25 categories. Commissions are paid out within 30 days of the sale once a minimum of $50 is met.

Top Affiliate Programs for Courses & Digital Products

No matter what your niche is, you can pretty much find courses and digital products that relate to it. It can be a nice change of pace if you don’t normally promote this kind of stuff, and for other niches, like the self-help niche, it can be your bread and butter.

Here are my favorite affiliate programs for courses and digital products…

CreativeLive

CreativeLive Best affiliate programs for bloggersCreativeLive is the go-to affiliate program for bloggers who speak to creative people, such as photographers, writers, video production, music, and crafts, as well as personal development topics such as how to start a business or time management.

The commission structure includes 25% on new customer purchases, 10% on return customer purchases, and $1 per lead. Course pricing ranges from $20 to several hundred. The cookie duration is 30 days.

Payments for CreativeLive come from the ShareASale Affiliate Network and can be sent via Direct Deposit or Check. They are released on the 20th of every month for the previous month’s commissions. To help you market CreativeLive courses, they offer their affiliates numerous banners and promotions.

Creative Market

CreativeMarket Best affiliate programs for bloggers

Creative Market offers a plethora of design assets from thousands of independent creators around the world, including fonts, themes, photos, templates, mockups, and other graphics at affordable prices. Their goals are to empower creators to earn a living doing what they love, and to help businesses bring their creative ideas to life with unique design assets (and they do both of those things really well).

Creative Market affiliates earn 10% commissions on each purchase for the first year after a referral signs up. Creative Market makes it really easy to share their products. Every share button that you see on their site already contains your affiliate link as long as you are logged into your affiliate account. So when you see something you like, just click the share buttons to instantly share and earn. This article offers more easy ways to share their stuff.

Clickbank

Clickbank Top paying affiliate programsClickbank is one of the most well-known and top affiliate programs because they offer literally millions of digital products and courses in hundreds of categories. It is one of the best places for newbies to start because there is no approval process – just sign up and start your affiliate marketing right away.

Commissions are generally 50%-75% and there are one-time and recurring offers available, as well as upsells on certain products. Payouts are done based on what you choose (weekly, monthly, etc).

Although Clickbank is the biggest name in information products, it has often been ripped on and questioned as far as its legitimacy. This comes solely out of the fact that the one downfall of this company is that they don’t vet the products that are promoted on their site, which means quite frankly, there can be a lot of crap offered on ClickBank.

On the other hand, there are a lot of high quality information products as well, so it comes down to ensuring that you try the products yourself and promote only the ones you want to have your name attached to (but really, that goes for all affiliate products anyway).

JVZoo

JVZoo Top paying affiliate programs

JV Zoo is another leading marketer of affiliate programs offering digital products in 21 categories. The thing to note here is that JV Zoo’s cookie duration is set to lifetime! The way it works is when you send a referral to a vendor in JV Zoo, you receive a cookie for all of the products offered by that vendor so that if at any point in their life they choose to purchase something from that vendor, you receive a commission.

Another awesome thing about JV Zoo is that affiliate payments are instant. The minute a purchase is made, the commission is paid out to your Paypal account. Plus, if you are using WordPress, the JVZoo Ad Manager Plugin allows you to automatically run ads to the JVZoo affiliate products you have approved on your blog.

Udemy

Udemy Top paying affiliate programs

Udemy offers digital courses that contain only exclusive content. At 40%, their commission rates are incredible, much higher than their competitors, which in this category tend to be about 15%. You are likely to find a course in your niche on Udemy, whether it’s marketing, fishing, yoga, you name it.

Out of the mouths of Udemy, this platform allows you to “promote a product that is always useful, that people always want, and that will never go out of style.” As much as one might argue we are coming out of the information age, people are still hungry for knowledge, and Udemy offers thousands of courses in hundreds of different categories so that you can feed them.

Udemy also gives their affiliates special affiliate-exclusive coupons and discounts to help give them an edge. This is a great way to consistently offer special deals to your followers that they will love you for.
