There are a truckload of Instagram follower apps available on the web. After trying hundreds of them, I chose Instato. In this Instato review I hope to explain why.
After rigorous assessment and testing a string of failures, I have come to the conclusion that there is only one Instagram App deserving of the iron throne. Is Instato Ethical
I get this one a lot and usually leave it up to the marketers. This review isn’t about ethics, it’s about software.
That being said, I have a lot of thoughts on ethics in the internet marketing space, and those apply to Instagram.
I never have a problem deceiving computers, servers, algorithms, etc. That’s what SEO is. So I usually draw the line at deceiving people. So if what you are doing is just to get Instagram’s algorithm to work in your favor, that’s marketing.
If what you are doing is to confuse and trick people and spam them, then probably not.
Instato gives you the ability to go as far as you want, so you need to be the one to decide.
Features that Make Instato Awesome
A Comprehensive and Easy to Navigate User Dashboard
You can add as many Instagram accounts on Instato as you want. After you’ve linked your accounts, you can proceed to managing them. Yes, it does cost a little more if you have ten accounts, but you are hopefully making a little more as well so it should balance out.
This review won’t focus on pricing because Instato is competitively priced. We will focus on the actual product.
On the User dashboard, there’s a panel on the right which has options to schedule posts, like, comment and other basic Instagram functions. As you move downward, you’ll come across some colourful features that make Instato the most coveted app on the market.

All of these tasks are accomplished by Instato with resounding success and ease.
Now, let me expand on each of these features so that you may get a better understanding of them.
Auto follow
You can use the Auto follow feature to follow people on the basis of hashtags, people, and locations. For example, if you want to get access to followers who are, in turn, following a trending topic, such as crypto currency, all you have to do is click on the hashtag box and type #cryptocurrency in the space below. Instato will quickly give you all the information you need.
Next, you can select the speed. Normally, you select auto and let the app handle things naturally. I would never recommend setting the speed to fast because it might put your Instagram account in danger of being disabled, on account of violating Instagram policies and guidelines. Instato has algorithms that help it know just how much it can push before getting in trouble.
Trust algorithms over your own judgment. Trust me.
One of the coolest functions of Instato has is that it lets you “pause actions”. For instance, if you’re posting round the clock, people will figure out pretty quickly that your account is being managed by a bot. However, if you “pause actions” during hours of sleep or work, no one will question bot involvement.
Auto Unfollow
Auto unfollow, aside from options of setting speed, pausing actions etc. gives you the option to white list. For example, if there is an account that follows you and you want to keep on following it, you can add it in your white list. The rest of the functions are pretty much the same.
The point of this is that if someone goes to your account and sees that you follow 50,000 people, they are a little less impressed that you have 5,000 followers. Instato lets you automatically follow and unfollow so that you can maintain a health ratio.
Now as mentioned earlier, this review isn’t going to focus on the ethics of using Instagram follower apps like this. Instead it will focus on the actual software. You can choose your ethical lines yourself.
Auto Repost
Autorepost is an amazing feature that lets you spit out content in profuse amounts. This feature comes in handy when you’re looking to boost the activity of your account. It works on the same principle as the aforementioned features. For example, if you want to repost every post with the hashtag bitcoin, just type #bitcoin after selecting the hashtag option and the bot will do the rest for you. If, at any point, you think that you no longer want to repost content, you can adjust the “remove after” option to accomplish just that.
Please note that Instato makes it easy to tag the person who posted the original content and that should absolutely be done. Give credit where credit is due. If you aren’t going to make your own content, give credit to those that do.
Auto DM
This is the place where you can make big bucks. You can create 50 or 60 messages and have them shuffled and sent to a multitude of potential customers. You can message them to follow your profile or whatever you please. Make sure the messages are intriguing and engaging. Ill-conceived messages are mostly ignored by people.
Auto Comment
The same parameters are provided in the Auto comment section. You can search people on the basis of hashtags, people or places and automate hundreds of comments on their posts. Again, I would suggest you to create a variety of messages and shuffle between them so that Instagram doesn’t get wind of any suspicious activity.
Auto Like
Again, Autolike gives you the freedom to automate thousands of likes on posts of interest. For example, if you want to like posts related to entrepreneurship, just type in the relevant hashtag, and Instato will handle the rest for you.
Activity Log
You can track the activity of Instato in the activity log section. It lists everything from posts liked to messages sent.
This is actually one of my favorite features. I was using a similar service awhile back and the numbers just didn’t seem to be adding up. I was getting some stats from the Instagram followers app and they just didn’t seem right.
The app had no log so I couldn’t really tell what was going on. Instato keeps track of everything it does so you can go in and look and verify if there are ever issues.
The Verdict on Instato
To sum up the full Instato review, it is the best at what it does. Not only is it highly simplistic, it also has every feature one could possibly desire in an Instagram followers app.
It delivers what it says and it does it in a way that makes sense to a regular user. Because everything is on the cloud, you don’t have to worry about all the issues that come from running an Instagram bot on your own server.
