What is an Amazon Product Tester?

Before I enlighten you on the ways to test products for Amazon and get paid.

Let’s first understand what an Amazon product tester is…

An Amazon product tester, or as they like to call it, Amazon reviewer, is someone who tests and reviews Amazon products. Exciting stuff, I know!

Now, if you’re looking to be a part of this elite group of product testers, you’re in luck!

You get to enjoy perks like free Amazon products, compensation, and the chance to have a side hustle that involves sharing your opinion (because who doesn’t love that?).

Sure, Amazon may not directly pay you for your product reviews. But fear not, my friend!

There are plenty of ways you can test products for Amazon and get paid…

How to become an Amazon product tester

Ah, Amazon, always keeping us on our toes with their ever-changing policies on product testing programs and seller-reviewer exchanges.

It’s like trying to keep up with the Kardashians, except instead of fashion and drama, it’s all about testing products and leaving feedback.

But fear not, dear reader! Despite the limited options available, there are still other avenues you can explore to test products for Amazon and get paid.

After all, who doesn’t want to score free products and be a part of the exciting world of product testing?

So without further ado, here are some ways to become an Amazon product tester and get in on the action. Let’s dive in and see what other doors of opportunity await us!

Amazon Influencer

The first on my list is Amazon Influencers… Now, let me break it down for you in grandma-friendly terms – An influencer is simply a big deal on social media.

Their followers trust their opinion. This is why companies partner with them to showcase their products. Imagine seeing your favorite influencer using a product… Wouldn’t you want to give it a try too?

That’s the power of an influencer, my friend. And the best part? Influencers make money by promoting products to their audience.

It’s like getting paid to tell your friends about your favorite products. But on a much larger scale.

Brands will pay influencers to mention their products. In return, the influencer gets paid for the mention.

So, how can you become an Amazon product tester and get in on the influencer action?

Well, you partner with Amazon product brands that will pay you to mention their products to your audience. It’s that simple!

If you’re looking to find opportunities to make money and become the next big Amazon influencer, I’ve got you covered.

I’ve personally discovered and made money using some of these methods myself… And with a little bit of luck and hard work, you could be the next success story.

Test Products for Amazon and Get Paid with Amazon Influencer Program

Step aside, Amazon Associates Program… the Amazon Influencer Program is here to help influencers test products for Amazon and get paid.

Launched in 2017. This program lets influencers make bank in several ways, like setting up their own storefront to market products, sharing their storefront’s URL on social media platforms, or using affiliate links to rake in the dough.

Now, you don’t have to be an affiliate to become an Amazon influencer. But you do need to apply and get approved.

And trust me, the marketplace can be picky with who they let in the club.

But fear not, there’s no strict requirement list – all you need is to reside in one of the qualifying countries (USA, Canada, UK, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, or India)…

Or operate a business in one of these locations. Have a profile on TikTok or a Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube account with an engaged following.

There’s no minimum follower count, as engagement is what counts. And did I mention you’ll need an Amazon account too?

One thing to keep in mind – the Amazon Influencer Program is not the same as the Amazon Associates Program.

While both allow you to earn a commission, the latter is open to anyone and their mom (literally), while the former is exclusively for the crème de la crème of influencers.

I became an Amazon Influencer a while back with no experience, no money, and without leveraging my audience or followers. And guess what?

It has already grown into a $50-a-day side hustle in such a short time frame. And the best part? you don’t even need to hit 4000 watch hours.

You don’t even need to show your face – I promise!

All you need is a camera and your hands.

How I Made $50 a Day Testing Amazon Products

Here’s what I did: I signed up for the Amazon Influencer program (which I go into detail in this blog post) and started reviewing different products by making videos.

Each time someone stumbled upon my review video of Amazon products and clicked to watch it, I got paid.

And the cherry on top? If they ended up purchasing the product after watching my review, I received an even bigger payout.

The best part was that I didn’t have to do any marketing or promotion of the products – I was simply reviewing the freebies I received from Amazon sellers. Yes, you heard it right – free products!

All I had to do was test them out, give my honest opinion on camera, and let the money roll in.

It was like getting paid to do something I already enjoyed – trying out new products and sharing my thoughts about them with others.

Amazon paid me directly – there was no third party like YouTube advertisers.

Steps to Becoming an Amazon Influencer

If you’re ready to test products for Amazon and get paid, listen up.

Here’s how to become an Amazon influencer in just three easy-peasy steps.

And trust me, the only thing small about the commissions you’ll earn is the number of steps it takes to get started!

Step 1: Join The Influencer Program and Kick-start Your Commission Earnings on Amazon!

Ready to turn your social media prowess into cold hard cash? It’s as easy as 1-2-3 with Amazon’s Influencer Program.

Here’s the first step:

Head over to the Amazon Influencer page and click the “Sign Up” CTA (that’s “Call-To-Action” for the uninitiated) at the top of the page.

From there, you’ll be prompted to choose the type of Amazon account you want to use.

You can either create a new account (so none of your past purchases are linked to your influencer account).

Or use your existing customer account (in which case your shopping history, product reviews, and lists will be linked to your influencer account).

Pro tip: If you’re already an Amazon Associate, use your existing account to make life easier.

Creating a new account is a breeze: just provide your name, and email address, and create a password.

Once you’ve sorted out those personal details, it’s time to select the social media platform where you have the most followers, likes, and engagement.

You can choose from YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok (sorry Twitter fans, you’ll have to sit this one out).

One important note: if you’re using Facebook or Instagram, make sure you have a business account…

And that’s it!

Don’t worry if you don’t make the cut the first time you apply – you can always try again later once your followers and engagement start to pick up.

Step 2: Jazz Up Your Storefront

So, you’re now an approved Amazon influencer, it’s time to test products for Amazon and get paid.

Time to design your storefront to test products for Amazon and get paid… But don’t get too excited about the customization options.

Unfortunately, Amazon has limited design options for you. You’re basically restricted to creating lists that showcase the products you’ve chosen.

But fear not! You can still add a unique header image and profile photo to help set your storefront apart.

Use it to show your target audience what your brand is all about. And if you have your own business logo, flaunt it in your picture and header image.

It’s best to market products that you actually use yourself. Not only does this increase authenticity. But it also makes creating content easier as you can showcase yourself using the product.

Plus, it’s more rewarding.

Sure, luxury beauty products have a higher 10% earning potential than toys, but don’t try to market something you have no interest in.

Amazon shoppers can sniff out inauthenticity from a mile away. For example, if you’re a father of two, why would you market a luxury vegan facial oil that reduces fine lines and wrinkles?

Other factors that will most likely play a role in the types of products you decide to market are your social networks, personal brand, and content creation preferences.

If you prefer videos, products that require demos can work well. If you’re more of a photographer, marketing apparel can be in your favor.

Step #3: Make Your Storefront Go Viral

Congratulations on setting up your Amazon storefront, you influencer, you!

Now, it’s time to turn that virtual real estate into a money-making machine.

To do that, you’ll need to create content that’s valuable, entertaining, and, most importantly, not too promotional.

Whether you prefer blogging, vlogging, or snapping selfies with your favorite products, you can share your content on multiple platforms to reach a wider audience.

While Amazon allows you to link only one social media account. That doesn’t mean you can’t share your content on other platforms.

Get creative and share your Amazon finds on Twitter or Snapchat by including a relevant link.

One way to make the most of your limited link space is by using a link-in-bio tool like Koji or Linktree.

These tools allow you to include multiple links in your Instagram or TikTok bio, making it easier for your followers to find and shop your favorite products on Amazon.

Other Ways to Make Money with Amazon Product Testing and Get Paid

Well, well, well, it seems like we’ve cracked the code for making money through Amazon’s Influencer Program! But let’s not rest on our laurels just yet…

And if you’re lucky enough to get in, you can post both positive and negative reviews without worrying about affecting your ranking.

Because let’s face it, nothing says “legitimate product reviewing program” like being able to trash a product and still maintain your ranking.

Facebook Review Groups: The Wild West of Amazon Product Testing

When it comes to test products for Amazon and get paid. There’s a sneaky way for sellers and testers to get what they want: Facebook review groups.

These groups are the ultimate middle ground for Amazon sellers and testers to trade services.

The best part? Amazon can’t control or regulate them!

Sellers approach reviewers with juicy discounts or freebies in exchange for a positive review. Some even offer a full refund via PayPal.

Sure, this is technically against Amazon’s policies. But it’s a loophole that Amazon can’t easily close since it isn’t traceable.

This leads to many fake product reviews, which hurts both buyers and sellers.

But don’t get too excited yet. While you can find like-minded reviewers and sellers in these groups and even choose a specific niche. Many people just want free stuff and end up leaving fake reviews that harm everyone involved.

Proceed with caution, my friends.
